You are driving

Question:

You are driving and come to a fork in the road. You need to get to New York City. The roads do not have signs, no one is there to tell you which road you need to take, and you can’t turn back and take the other road if you take the wrong one the first time. You can not turn around a go a different way. If you randomly choose a road to take how will you know you are choosing the correct road before you take it? What is the chance you will take the correct road?

Solution: You will know You are choosing the correct road before you take one because you can’t turn around, so that means neither road is the correct road. There is a 0% chance you will choose the correct road. Why: if you choose the left road at random and it is the wrong road… You know the right road is the correct one, and you can’t turn back and take the right road. If you choose the right road at random and it is the wrong road… You know the left road is the correct road. Since you can not turn around you must know you are always going to take the wrong road because you must get to New York City and have to keep going on whichever road you took. That gives you a 0% chance of taking the correct road given that there is no way for you to know which road to take and you can’t turn around, so the roads must connect somewhere and make a loop I order for you to be able to take the correct road, but if the two roads loop you will never get to New York City because you would end up where you started. Therefor neither of the roads is the correct road.
